Apache: Air Assault – Demo Impressions

If your not interested in helicopter combat turn the page. Just kidding, stay, make yourself at home i was joking. Apache: Air Assault is a helicopter combat game published by the evil Activision (not joking) made for the PC, Ps3 and 360. The demo didn’t last long (like most these days). Here are some things i took from the demo.

First off, its fun. Yes its fun!!! This game reminds me of flying and shooting/bombing people online in Battlefield Bad Company 2 while in a helicopter. The controls felt very similar to BFBC-2 i guess thats why it was easy to get familiar with the game mechanics.

Apache: Air Assault isn’t a game for hardcore flight simulation (PC guys know what i mean). This game is more casual albeit fun, then a hardcore flight sim. While i played the demo mission it felt good firing down missiles and hellfire on the tangos with my dual shock. It should not take the average gamer to master the controls for Apache: AA that long with a gamepad.

The games visuals reminded me of some multiplayer maps i played in Battlefield Bad Company 2. The graphics had that quality as well. I doubt the devs used the FrostBite 2.0 engine but it did look like BFBC-2.

Look, the bottomline for me is i don’t play many vehicle based games regarding shooting and wreaking havoc. I do believe this game is fun though. If your into these type of games play the demo, you might really really end up liking Apache: Air Assault.
