My 360 Red Ringed of Death Today!!!
Ashes to ashes dust to dust!! I should just spare you all the dramatics perhaps. Its inevitable when you have the older model Microsoft Xbox 360 for 3 years i guess. Anyways, well today it became official. My Xbox 360 “Red Ringed of Death” or “RROD” for short. If you don’t know what RROD means, it means your console died.
Today i started up my 360 since there was a huge sell for Mass Effect 2 DLC (downloadable content). I had planned on buying the Overlord DLC and writing a review on it today. But, $h*t happens it seems. My 360 did start up and i was able to log into my account before the screen turned black. I turned off my 360, restarted it. Whalaa, RROD on my console. I brought my brother in the room to show him. I pointed at the console, he started to laugh. I guess it is a joke that after just over three years the thing dies.

I won’t get into any bashing of Microsoft or Xbox in general as it was expected. I knew about all the history of 360′s possibly over heating before i even bought the system. My 360 was purchased around the time Halo 3 released. I never left the system on when i didn’t play it. It still died and i will be out $299.99 soon. I am an optimistic person by nature and always wanted a 360 with wi-fi (wasn’t going to purchase an add-on when my launch PS3 had wi-fi built in). So slim here i come!!
What else can be said about this? I read stories from guys who bought as many as 6 or 7 360′s in 5 years. I won’t be those guys lol. I am also not the typical 360 owner who buys the xbox 360 “cause all my friends and family have one”. I game on consoles for games, and i want to play Gears of War 3 in Sept 2011. So that is my main reason for buying another 360…unless Epic releases it on the PC? Meh, doubt that will happen but heres to wishful thinking.
