Old School – Faxanadu

Faxanadu was a action role-playing game that released back in 1989 for the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System). It was developed by Falcom and published by Hudson Soft. The NES was hands down my favorite console growing up for many reasons but basically for its library of games. Faxanadu was one of those games. More importantly Faxanadu unbeknownst at the time would be the last game i played on the NES (to this day). The reason being was that the same year the TurboGrafix-16 and later the Neo-Geo would release. Lets not get into that debacle that was the Philips CDi. Thinking back, i didn’t even finish Faxanadu.

Its not that it was a bad game it was fun from what i played many years ago. It was just that i was intreseted in all of the other new consoles because they had better graphics etc (you know how kids are). I really don’t remember much about Faxanadu other than that it had a strong fantasy world presentation with elves, swords and a mysterious protagonist. I do remember the 2D adventure game having nice visuals for a game back then. I also remember the music was good but that was about it. It was close to the end for the NES in 1989 as the plans to develop and release the Super Nintendo was in full effect. They say nostalgia is like a drug but not in this case. I wished i finished Faxanadu. I know i still can. Thanks for reading. Thanks nesguide of youtube.
