Xbox Live: Indie Trial Game – Try Not to Fart

Hey guys i found another hilarious Xbox Live indie trial game. The name of the game is Try Not to Fart! Really, thats the name of the game. If you fart you lose. Its really that simple. Try Not to Fart been on Xbox Live for about  ten months and i am now just playing it. Here is the runddown. Try not to Fart is a “miscellaneous title” developed by Silver Dollar Games. Maybe you can call it a “fart genre game”?

Like i alluded to earlier, the overall premise and gameplay of Try Not to Fart centers around not farting. The trial game presents a few scenes from a date. You start out at a bar, then you move to a movie theater setting then dinner at a restaurant. This is when the fun starts. Button prompts start popping on the screen like a simple X or Y. You have to hold the buttons down till said button starts to blink. You let the button go preventing yourself from farting. Not only that, you gain points and prevent your date from getting disgusted.

Try not to Fart has quite a bit of spoken dialog. The dialog doesn’t always flow or make sense but it is pretty funny. The reactions your date gets when you fart are hilarious. The game starts off with easy button prompts like i alluded to earlier but ramps up in difficulty pretty fast. The first scene at the bar for example even gets difficult near the end.

For example you might get a button prompt to hold down A and X at the same time. Next, you might get RB and LT at the same time (Xbox controller layout). The A and X will start to blink first telling you to let them go. Now you might get a B and Y button prompt at the same time. Are you still holding down RB and LT? Ok good. Eventually, RB and LT might start to blink as well B and Y. At the end, you will get a big bonus and move to the next scene of your date.

It might seem easy. Your probably thinking, “its just QTE” (quick time events). That is part of it. Most quick time events you don’t normally leave the buttons down for a long time while adding more buttons to hold and let go. The difficulty in Try Not to Fart is just that. How do you place your fingers on all the buttons while only hitting the right ones? Make sure you don’t press the wrong button either or else you pass gas and gross your date out.

Try Not to Fart feeds off our most basic sense of humor. Which is farting. Everybody farts. It can be embarrassing and its almost always funny no matter the situation. If you haven’t played Try Not to Fart by Silver Dollar Games give it a try for some cheap laughs on Xbox Live. Thanks for reading.
